REMINDERS
Students should arrive at school no earlier than 8.20 am. They can go to our Brekky program if they arrive at school at 8.20 am. They can't be in the yard until 8.30 am as that is when there is teachers available for yard duty. If you know your child is going to be at school earlier than 8.20am, please call and let someone know, if possible the day before. We are having students dropped off sometimes beofre 8:00am and that time is for staff to be preparing and getting ready for the day. They are unable to be on active supervision.
STUDENT FREE DAY MONDAY 3rd NOVEMBER- TEACHER PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE DAY. THE OFFICE WILL BE OPEN.
PUBLIC HOLIDAY FOR CUP DAY TUESDAY 4TH NOVEMBER- SCHOOL CLOSED

Attendance
It is really important that you let the school know if your child is away/ or is going to be away from school. We are required as a school to provide reasons why students are away. If you have not let the school know either by logging in to COMPASS and adding an attendance note, or by calling the school, we need to follow that up. Due to our high number of unexplained absences, we will now be sending a letter home asking families to fill out a form explaining absences we haven't been provided with a reason, so that we can comply with our obligations. We understand it can be hard to call sometimes, this is why we have the Compass option for families to use to let us know your child is not coming to school.
Our 90% + chart this week is looking a bit down- and we hope that next week we can get it back up again!

Lunch Menus
You will notice the recent lunch menus have a 'Created by-......" at the top of them. This is because Chelsea has been working her way through our classes, teaching them all about how she puts a menu together, using what we have been donated, what we can buy within our budget and what we can use that we already have stored. With this information, classes have been able to have a go at creating a week's menu for themselves. So many great skills being built and a great way to include student decision-making into our lunch program.

JUNIOR STEM Report
Following on from last weeks great report, this week we have another one.
Yesterday, Lilly, Stevie, Neera, Abraham, Deshana, Kavneer, Olivia, Odette and Pere made cloud dough with the preps. Odette and Olivia explained what they did, “We told them what to do, first we put the condition in the bowl. Then we supported them to mix the food dye with the conditioner. Then we add the cornflour, and we mixed it again and then when it was done, we played with the cloud dough with our hands”
The grade1/2s set goals to work on when supporting the preps, here is how they said they went with their goals.
“As a leader I was happy because I like helping and my group had fun” – Odette
“I liked teaching because it was fun, and I could show them what to do” – Oliver
“I liked teaching the preps because it was fun and I showed them how to do it and they shared the work” - Peter
