AFL AFTER SCHOOL CLINIC

We are all very excited to be starting after school AFL next week. A reminder that clinic finished at 4.30pm and students need to be collected from the GOWRIE ST side gate or Manega back gate.

SCHOOL REVIEW PARENT SURVEY

We had our first review day this week and the panel decided they would like to hear from parents. We were given the questions this morning and have called a number of families today with these survey questions. If you haven't already been contacted and would like to fill in a survey, you can do it online HERE. It will only take a few minutes to fill in and will help us with our direction for the next 4 years!!! All surveys done BEFORE TUESDAY will go into a draw for a $50 grocery voucher. Winners will be announced in next week's newsletter.

SORRY DAY

The 2022 SorryDay Commemoration at Shepparton's Monash Park took place on Thursday. Thomas, Yulki, Talisha and Kartel attended proudly representing Gowrie St with the support of Auntie Leanne Sangster and Billy Cooper.

FAREWELL BILLY COOPER

This week we said goodbye to one of our amazing ES team- Billy Cooper. Billy has been with us for quite a few years now and is well loved by us all. From supporting with us with our learning, to kicking the footy around, to helping us with our big emotions, to teaching culture, Billy has become integral to all we do at Gowrie St. All the kids were really sad to see Billy and and so is everyone. We will miss you Billy!

RECONCILIATION WEEK

Next week is Reconciliation week. All of our classrooms will be working across the week on a range of activities including creating classroom Acknowledgements of Country, working with Gunai writer and artist Kirli Saunders to create poems, creating songs, artworks and many other activities. Please join us for an assembly on Friday at 2.30pm.

3-4 ACCA EXCURSIONS

Students attended ACCA ( Australian Centre for Contemporary Art) on Tuesday, as part of their ongoing partnership. After exploring an exhibition with a focus on sound, listening and the ‘feeling’ of sound, students then created a drawing in response to the experience and where able to view and draw the sound waves they heard. After lunch and play we headed to the Queen Victoria Gardens to explore the public artworks in the area and create drawings our Art journals. Students are looking forward to hosting the ACCA team in the last week of Term 2 for an artist lead incursion.
