At Gowrie St Preschool our aim is to provide children with a warm, welcoming and vibrant learning environment. We view children as capable and believe in building children’s self-esteem and social skills through our challenging and creative indoor and outdoor spaces.

We have 33 children across our three groups, Melinda and Amber are both Bachelor trained Teachers, while Naomi is our Diploma trained Early Childhood Educator.  Our current staff are a great team and have been working together for the past 7 years.   Each of our staff members have over 20 years of experience in the industry and are committed to ongoing learning and development.

Facilities & Programs

Our thoughtfully designed spaces celebrate play, learning, and individuality whilst also supporting all key developmental areas. Our colourful yet calm classroom and our spacious outdoor area provide endless opportunities for children to play and learn while developing their independence, resilience, and social/emotional capabilities.

We provide a healthy breakfast to any child who feels they need it.  We believe that having a satisfied stomach is part of being regulated and ready to learn.

We facilitate The Book Buddy Program which is unique to Gowrie St Preschool.  A priority area for us at Gowrie St Preschool is to support the development of confident and effective communicators.  Each month your child will receive a high-quality storybook to take home and read with family members, in each book we provide you with ideas for shared reading activities that will support the development of your child’s comprehension, expressive and receptive language skills.  The content of each month’s storybook will drive much of our curriculum as we continue to extend and develop each child’s oral language skill set along with all areas of development.

At Gowrie St Preschool we offer After Kinder Care.  Children can be enrolled in this program so that families can satisfy work commitments or so that the number of “pick ups” can be reduced, eg pick up the school children and the preschool children at the same time of 3.15pm.
