CAMP REMINDER

We have an exciting week coming up with camps for grades 3-6. The 3/4s are going to Kinglake and the 5/6s are going surfing in Lorne. The packing list and itinerary for the 3/4s is HERE and for the 5/6s is HERE.

GRADE 6 TRANSITION

Over the next few weeks our Grade 6s will be involved in a number of visits and activities to support their transition to secondary school. This week our girls participated in a program delivered by the Big Sister Experience. They worked with girls from St Georges Rd PS covering six modules:- Organisation Mental Health and

Wellbeing Friendship and Conflict Management

Safe Social Media Use Goal Setting and Motivation Gratitude

GRADE 1-2 WRITING

Over the past few weeks the grade 1-2s have been writing persuasive letters to Ms Chapman about changes they would love to see in the school. An enormous amount of work has gone into these pieces of writing with learning about writing the sounds in words, having a go at the writing, handwriting and in presenting to the class and to Ms Chapman. Well done 1-2 Writers and your many great ideas will certainly be taken into consideration!

IMPORTANT SCHOOL REMINDERS

SCHOOL TIMES

School is open from 8.20am each morning. We have had high numbers of children coming very early, sometimes as early as 7.30am. We have no staff to supervise children at those times. We certainly understand if you have something come up and need to drop children earlier but please call first so we can organise something.

NO HAT NO PLAY

In line with our school SunSmart policy, it is a requirement that all students wear a hat when they are playing or learning outside. If they have no hat they will be asked to sit under the shade sails or in Wellbeing or the library.

WE ALWAYS WALK BIKES AND SCOOTERS IN THE SCHOOL YARD

Please remind your child that they walk their bikes or scooters across roads, the school crossing and in the school yard. We have had a number of reports from people driving near the school of children riding scooters on the road or dangerously riding bikes, from our school crossing of children riding across the crossing without getting off and we also know that children are riding their bikes in the school grounds. We will be having a blitz on this within the school and children found riding bikes or scooters inside the school will have a phone call home about this and children seen riding dangerously around the streets will be told they can't ride to school. We really do not want a serious accident where children are injured or worse.
